Founded by a mother and son duo, both deeply connected to their roots, The Westmorelite is inspired by the island’s vibrant traditions, resilient people, and breathtaking landscapes.
What We Hope to Achieve:
1. Celebrate Jamaican Culture
Jamaican culture is a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of history, music, dance, food, and community. Through our blog, social media channels, and products, we aim to showcase the diverse and colorful aspects of Jamaican life. From traditional recipes to folklore and festivals, we will bring you stories and insights that celebrate our island’s heritage.
2. Educate and Inspire
Education is at the heart of what we do. We want to inspire and educate not only the Jamaican diaspora but also those curious about our culture. Our recently released book, “Island ABC,” is a vibrant and engaging children’s book that celebrates the unique culture and beauty of island life through playful rhymes for each letter of the alphabet. Our upcoming book, “Every Mickle Mek a Muckle,” teaches children how to save and manage money, using Jamaican-themed stories. Through this and other educational content, we hope to empower the next generation with knowledge and pride in their heritage.
